xUnique Brass Sconces with Fleur-de-lis Design

Here is a pair of elaborately designed fixtures based largely on the fleur-de-lis, a stylized version of the lily flower.

These heavy solid brass wall sconces are not just unique but scarce, at least in this country. The elaborate design incorporates symbols of the Holy Trinity, the fleur-de-lis and the trefoil. Studying the sconces, you will find both symbols used in many different, clever ways throughout. At the top of the back plates are a pair of small crowns, perhaps referring to the French monarchy which adopted the fleur-de-lis, the three petals to represent faith, wisdom and chivalry.
The fleur-de-lis is obviously the symbol the French province of Quebec decided to use for its flag.
