xMarkel 3000-line Art Deco 6-light Slip Shade Chandelier
$1,200.00
Many old fixtures are still attractive today despite a few paint chips but this line of fixtures does not. Any flaws detract from the simplicity of the art deco design. We find that restored finishes rarely duplicate the original. The original finish here wasn’t silver or platinum, pewter, stainless steel, etc. We did find an iridescent white/silver mix which does duplicate the original finish, an iridescent light gray which shows silvery white when it is reflecting light. This iridescence affects our pictures (the fixture appears to be white instead of the bright silver it actually is).
The shades are all virtually perfect as is the finish. This type of shade is so easy to install that it doesn’t get much wear. The bottom sixth shade is a plus as a down light for dining.
Rewired, including a nifty three-way switch for lighting entire fixture, 3 shades only, or bottom shade only. Altogether, this fixture is almost exactly what it was 90 years ago, ready for a second life.
Measurements are 16″ wide and 30″ high, ideal height for a dining room with an 8-foot ceiling, general lighting in a 9-foot room.
