Beautiful, colorful, good design, unique, well made – qualities that have made these light fixtures enduringly popular from the 1920’s until today. Sold by the H.G. McFaddin & Co of New York, shades made for the company in Czechoslovakia and fitted with fixtures for ceiling and table.
The design, blue flowers repeated three times on a field of flowers, is acid etched on the outside of the glass and it doesn’t seem to have any flaws Bellova shades hold up. The fixture, not guaranteed to be original, is pressed brass with a beautiful ornate design. The design and shape of the shade is typical of Bellova. The first two pictures show the fixture lit at low wattage. The last is the fixture unlit.
We connected the fixture to a dimmer switch to show the effect that different amounts of light have on the shade. Gone to St. Louis.
