Virden 5-candle Bronze Chandelier

Here is an example of another high quality light fixture by J. C. Virden.  The graceful design is constructed of solid bronze with a difficult to cast filigree petal motif throughout. The filigree gives an ethereal quality to a fixture sturdy enough to last another 90 years. The reeded pipes emerge from five large filigree petals. Smaller petals enclose the base of each of the 5 candles. There is a little bit of a Gothic feel to the fixture with its dark patina and innovative, spirited design. You could imagine the Mephisto waltz playing in the background. A light fixture like no other.

The only concession to the art deco designs of the period is the diamond link chain, still intact. The chain as shown is right for an 8-foot ceiling, 20″ long, 20″ wide. We can ad another 1 foot of chain. .
