Here is a stunning pendant sometimes attributed to Handel. Handel employed artists who depicted colorful, rather ugly, somewhat macabre, parrots on the inside of lamp shades and ball pendants. Here we have the use of stencils on the outside of a shade that has a crackle glass style finish for even more interest. It is suspended from its original antique pressed brass fixture. The fixture is complete, old patina untouched. The fixture is now a dull old brass with hints of gilding from a former life.
If you can afford it, I would go with an original Handel but these old restrikes, repros , have gained some status as a lovely addition to an antique or an eclectic decorating scheme.
The globe and the fixture are in excellent condition, no cracks, splits, loss of paint, etc.
