xSlip Shade R. Williamson/Beardslee Art Deco Wall Sconce – Two available

$425.00

Signed R. Williamson, a Chicago lighting company, eventually acquired by Beardslee, a Delaware lighting company, Williamson was known for its excellent designs and craftsmanship. The art deco period was noted for its use of slip or “slipper” shades, which allowed the housewife to simply slip out the shades for cleaning rather than relying on screws.
The fixtures, including the back plates, are brass plated cast aluminum. Aluminum is particularly suited for accurately capturing the intricacies of the elaborate art deco design. The original polychrome colors of gold, pink, and green, applied by hand, are all there with an applied patina which emphasizes the rugged design.
The shades are mint, milk glass with a milky orange juice matte finish, accented with darker stylized orange leaves, baked on with no paint loss.
As with all of our fixtures, these are cleaned, restored, rewired and ready to hang on a modern electrical box. Measurements are 12″ high x 7″ wide x 6” deep.  Price is for a single sconce (pair still available for a total purchase price of $850).
