European Style Bronze Candle Sconces, c 1920’s

While American designers borrowed from the past for much of their lighting, candle sconces and gas lights, European designers did the same thing in a much more playful way. They took a tongue-in-cheek approach to the idea of an electrified “wall candle”.  In this case, these whimsical French sconces have the arched back plate, the candles disproportionate in size to the fixtures. the metal “lace” edging.

Material is bronze, bronze lasts forever.  The back plate is deeply embossed, candelabra only 2″ high, original finials, rewired, ready to install.  T9
