Storybook Lantern Porch Lights Pair

Tudor and Gothic designs became very popular in the 1920’s. Elements of both can be seen in these whimsically designed porch lights. They are cast aluminum with an independent clear glass cylinder that has a tree bark design.

We have sold several later versions of this fixture made in the 40’s and 50’s.  This is the original, somewhat different in size, three pieces, which allows you to take the fixtures apart to clean the shades.  We found them completely covered in old white house paint but we found some old remnants of black paint which had not flaked off.

Many of our buyers prefer the look of raw aluminum so we have not repainted the fixtures, just rewired them, ready for another 100 years of service.  We  have found no problems, glass cylinders are in beautiful condition.
