Virden “Rustproof Outdoor Lanterns” – pair

The finish on these fixtures are described in the 1933 Virden catalog as “forged iron with crystal glass”. These are actually aluminum (much more weatherproof) with two pieces of curved glass with a design pressed into the clear glass panels and advertised as “weatherproof.”
It doesn’t look like these sconces were ever used outdoors. They are accented with black to show up the hammered finish. The glass panels have a stylized hammered design which is still clear showing no signs of use. Original wiring tested and is like new.
Measurements are: Extends 7″ and is 10″ tall x 5 1/2″ wide
